About
Josie Breuls (she/her) is a Vancouver-based artist and graphic designer with a passion for accessible design. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from Emily Carr University of Art & Design, where she developed her creative and design skills.
With experience in marketing at Small Business BC and art advisory at Farmboy Fine Arts, Josie gained a deep understanding that effective design is not only about aesthetics but also strategy. Now working as a designer at NUVO and Montecristo Magazine, she combines her love for typography, layout, and storytelling to create compelling visuals.
Josie is open to freelance graphic design opportunities and has worked with a diverse range of clients, including professional DJs, lawyers, and soap makers. Whether it’s branding, typography, or layout design, she provides creative, tailored solutions for each project.
In addition to design, Josie is an acrylic painter whose work explores whimsical storytelling, family moments, and cozy domestic scenes. Her current series, Lilly’s Journey, will be showcased at the 4 by 4 Gallery from August 7–21, 2025.
A passionate advocate for the arts, Josie served as a guest artist during Dyslexia Awareness Month at Fraser Academy, where she led talks and facilitated activities to inspire students to explore their artistic talents.
When she’s not designing or painting, Josie enjoys hiking Vancouver’s trails, savoring vegetarian meals, or quietly wondering what her cats are plotting next.
